The Western Visayas Health Research and Development Consortium (WVHRDC) holds the 2024 Policy Brief Training Final Presentation at the DOST VI Training Room on October 9, 2024.
The 2024 Policy Brief Training was designed to equip researchers with the necessary skills to develop policy briefs for future presentations to key stakeholders. The training commenced last August and was participated in by seven (7) trainees from West Visayas State University Medical Center, West Visayas Sanitarium and General Hospital, West Visayas State University, and Don Jose S. Monfort Medical Center. These policy briefs focused on several areas: patient care, hospital management, infection control procedures, health services, and programs targeting vulnerable populations.
During the culmination event, representatives from the Department of Health Western Visayas Center for Health Development, Iloilo Provincial Health Office, the University of the Philippines Visayas, The Medical City Iloilo, and other stakeholders provided feedback and recommendations for the policy briefs.
Mr. Patrick Joseph B. Jalandoni from The Medical City Iloilo shared key insights from the DOST-PCHRD 5th Webinar Workshop for Early-career Researchers on Evidence-informed Policymaking for Health.
With the conduct of the Policy Brief Training, health researchers are equipped in the translation of health research results to health policies, which will help in the delivery of better healthcare services, programs, and management. (YATiron, KFADuspar/RDIMS)
