The Department of Science and Technology Region VI (DOST VI) recently met with project partners for KWAAGO or Knowledge Center for Weather, Atmospheric, Astronomical and Geophysical Observation, located at the Climate Field School, Dumangas, Iloilo.

The meeting discussed preparations for the planned Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing ceremony with local government unit (LGU) Dumangas under the administration of Mayor Braeden John Biron and ISAT U under the administration of Dr. Gabriel M. Salistre, Jr. This is to further strengthen the partnership among the stakeholders and further improve the facility.

KWAAGO is an education hub for understanding space, weather observation, and remote sensing technologies launched in 2022. The center is equipped with computers and applications that can be used for exhibits, lectures, interactive activities, audio-visual presentations, and seminars. It also aims to complement the Iloilo Ground Receiving Station (GRS) established at the same location. (VMCarreon/DRRMO, NABFActuar/KMO)
