To promote an ethically-compliant environment in the conduct of health and health-related researches, the Regional Ethics Monitoring Board VI (REMB VI) continues to conduct advocacy campaigns and trainings in Western Visayas.

Separate face-to-face Basic Research Ethics Training or BRET was conducted Northern Iloilo State University (NISU), Northern Negros State College of Science and Technology (NONECOST), and Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMMRH). The training will help the organizations in establishing their respective research ethics committees (REC) and in preparing for their ethics accreditation with the Philippine Health Research Ethics Board (PHREB) accreditation.

Additionally, a workshop on Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) was also conducted for Central Philippine University (CPU). The activity provided CPU’s REC an opportunity to rigidly review and correct their existing SOP as they prepare for PHREB Level 2 accreditation.
