ISLA TBI or the Guimaras State University (GSU) – Technology Business Incubator was recently launched to strengthen the innovation ecosystem, particularly for startup businesses in the province.

The establishment of the hub is a joint effort by GSU and the Department of Science and Technology VI (DOST VI) with support from the Iloilo Science Technology University (ISAT-U) KWADRA TBI.

ISLA TBI aims to encourage entrepreneurship and innovative enterprise development, provide business support services for young firms, but more importantly to commercialize results of research and development activities in the university.

Key officials attended the launching activity including Hon. Samuel T. Gumarin, Mayor of Buenavista, Guimaras, Mr. Rayjand T. Gellamucho, General Manager of ISAT-U KWADRA TBI, Ms. Keithlyn Sarah B. Bernardino, representing DOST VI Regional Director Rowen. R. Gelonga, and officials from GSU.

Starting up the activities in ISLA TBI, a technology pitching of GSU research products and technologies was also conducted.

The launching program was spearheaded by the Office of Research, Extension, Technology, and Innovation Services of GSU.
