The University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos (UNO-R) is now the newest member of the Western Visayas Research and Development Consortium (WVHRDC) under its Research Utilization Committee (RUC).
With this, an orientation with UNO-R via video conferencing to introduce WVHRDC, particularly about the various programs and activities conducted by the consortium.
UNO-R Research and Development Office Director, Engr. Ashraf R. Khater, shares that health and medical advancement is one of the 11-point agenda of the university. He believes that UNO-R’s research direction can be taken to even more proactive heights especially in line with health research for the betterment of various facets in the community through their involvement with WVHRDC.
The activity was participated by WVHRDC RUC members, WVHRDC project staff, Western Visayas Consortium for Industry, Energy and Emerging Technologies Research and Development (WVCIEERD) project staff, DOST VI Research and Development Management Section staff, UNO-R staff from the Research and Development Office, College of Allied Medical Health Services, program heads and faculty.
The WVHRDC aims to strengthen the system of collaboration in Region VI to develop and enhance the capacity of its member institutions in terms of health research. Likewise, the consortium assists the DOST-Philippine Council for Health Research and Development (PCHRD) in establishing mechanisms to strengthen health research capabilities, encourage resource sharing between institutions, and promote the dissemination and utilization of health research results in the region.
