BIDA system deployed to Capiz CEST beneficiaries

The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Capiz Provincial S&T Center (PSTC) deployed desktop units installed with the Barangay Infosystem for Development and Accountability (BIDA) system to three barangays, namely, Brgy. Capagao, Tinigban, and Timpas, in Panitan, Capiz.

The barangays are beneficiaries of DOST’s Community Empowerment through Science and Technology (CEST) program wherein the installation of BIDA is part of fulfilling the program’s Good Governance component.

DOST VI developed BIDA as an e-governance system that allows barangays to easilyencode, track, and archive minutes of meetings, resolutions, and ordinances.

The orientation was conducted through a blended mode of learning and each barangay beneficiary was represented by their respective barangay captains and their secretaries. Mr. Garry T. Balinon and Mr. Brennan M. Terre from the DOST VI Management Information Services (MIS) were the resource persons for the activity.

Hands-on exercises were also performance to give participants the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the system. During the exercises, they practiced creating accounts and storing documents such as forms, certificates and clearances, as well as managing documents and creating templates using BIDA.(KJRGagajena/DOSTVI-KMU)
