DOST VI RSTL capacitates partner labs on method verification and validation

The Department of Science and Technology Region VI – Regional Standards and Testing Laboratory (DOST VI – RSTL) conducted a technical webinar on Method Verification and Validation in Chemical and Microbiological testing as one of its continuing activities on providing technical assistance to other laboratories within the region.

It is the primary aim of the technical webinar to increase participants’ knowledge and understanding in the importance of conducting a method validation or verification in ensuring that measurement/test results reported to customers are correct and reliable, which form as an integral part of the good analytical practice.

In attendance were 35 participants from partner laboratories and OneLab Network members including the Negros Prawn Producers Cooperative (NPPC), Inc., Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center (SEAFDEC), University of Antique – Integrated Research and Development Laboratory (UA-IRDL), ACA Laboratory, Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Region VI – Regional Fisheries Laboratory (BFAR VI-RFL), Environment Management Bureau Region VI (EMBR6), and Aklan Environment and Natural Resources Office (AKENRO).

Serving as a resource speaker were Mr. Joeben V. Gubatanga, RMT, SRS II/Technical Manager of the DOST VI-RSTL Microbiological Testing Laboratory, and Mr. Roxzien Shaye G. Sesbreño, RCh, SRS II, of the DOST VI- RSTL – Chemical Testing Laboratory.

At the end of the training, participants were given a workshop to evaluate their understanding and learnings acquired during the training.(KRJGagajena/DOSTVI-KMU)
