Mick’s Laundry Shop in Capiz acquires training on eco-friendly soap making

Mick’s Laundry Shop in Roxas City, Capiz acquired training on eco-friendly liquid laundry soap making. The training was facilitated by the DOST Provincial S&T Center (PSTC) in Capiz and the DOST Industrial Technology Development Institute (ITDI).

The laundry shop is owned by Aurelio and Nufelyn Villasis. Through the training, the owners and staff will learn how to make affordable and environment-friendly liquid soap for their customers. This is to avoid all the undesirable ingredients present in commercial soap, to reduce waste and cost operation, and to generate more income amid the pandemic.

Resource speakers during the training were Mr. Jan Rotsen Kyle A. Delos Santos and Mr. Marc Argel Leomar Quetulio from DOST-ITDI. They were assisted by PSTC Capiz personnel, Ms. Ivy D. Delandao and Ramsey V. Bercades. Since the activity utilized the blended learning approach, the resource persons gave their lectures on liquid laundry soap making and the safety precautionary measures via Zoom videoconferencing while PSTC staff were present on-site to assist the participants during the hands-on demonstration.
