NAST PH holds youth virtual symposium in Capiz province

National Academy of Science and Technology Philippines (NAST PHL) holds “ScienTeach: A Virtual Symposium for the Youth in Capiz” wherein 222 junior and high school students participated.

The online event is in partnership with the Department of Education VI (DepEd), Department of Science and Technology VI (DOST), and Provincial Science and Technology Center in Capiz.

According to NAST PHL President and Acd. Rhodora Azanza, the event aims to promote science and technology, bring the scientists closer to the youth, and inspire and encourage the students to pursue a career in science.

Three expert scientists shared their knowledge to the youth. These are Acd. Carmencita D. Padilla (UP Manila), an expert in the medical field and genetics; Dr. Jomar P. Rabajante (UP Los Baños), an expert in mathematics and quantitative science; and Dr. Krista Danielle S. Yu (DLSU), an expert in Economics.

ScienTeach is an adaptive effort of NAST PHL to continue serving its stakeholders at the time of the pandemic. It is a series of episodes that highlights varying topics and features NAST Members and Awardees who are accomplished in their respective fields. It aims to promote science and technology, bring our scientists closer to the youth, and inspire and encourage the students to pursue a career in science. (MCPielago)
