DOST VI supports communities affected by Typhoon Odette

In order to support the communities affected by Typhoon Odette, the Department of Science and Technology Region VI (DOST VI) has identified the project, Digitizing Reports on Emergency Operation Center for Monitoring of Disaster Risk Reduction and Management with Support to Bantay Panahon Operation Project.

The project will address the need for a system in gathering and facilitating reports for the immediate disaster response to assist the affected communities during calamities.

Moreover, the DOST VI Community Empowerment Thru Science and Technology (CEST) Program is also identified as the project that will complement the rehabilitation and recovery of TY Odette affected communities.

Mr. Ryan Vilmor Dumpit, DOST VI Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Unit (DRRMU) Head reported the programs, projects, and activities for the rehabilitation and recovery plan in a meeting on RRP Formulation conducted by the Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (RDRRMC), March 16.
