GSU faculty immersed in DOST VI Microbiology Lab operations

Three faculty members from Guimaras State University (GSU) underwent immersion at the Department of Science and Technology Region VI’s (DOST VI) Regional Standards and Testing Laboratory Microbiological Testing Laboratory (RSTL MTL).

As GSU began to offer Bachelor of Science Food Technology (BSFT) program, they were recommended to develop laboratories for microbiology, chemistry and sensory evaluation by the Professional Regulatory Board (PRC). With this, the 5-day immersion and benchmarking activity with DOST VI was conducted.

The immersion aimed to enhance capability and assist faculty members in complying with PRC’s requirements specifically their proficiency skills in microbiological analyses of food products and water as well as their technical know-how on laboratory facilities and equipment used in the Microbiological Testing, Chemical Testing, and Shelf-life Testing Laboratories.
