The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Region VI provided technology upgrading assistance to two Aklan-based businesses through the Small Enterprise Technology Upgrading Program 4.0 Innovation-enabling Fund (SETUP 4.0 iFund). This initiative aims to provide micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) with sustainability, resilience, and innovativeness through technological advancement and other science and technology (S&T) interventions.

Baligyaan Nature’s Products, one of the pasalubong manufacturers in Aklan, and Technopoint X-Tarp Printshop, a supplier of printed materials and garments, have benefited significantly from the SETUP 4.0 iFund. Through leveraging advance technologies and adoption of appropriate S&T interventions, they have been able to improve their production capacity, boost process efficiency, eliminate outsourcing practices, and enhance product quality.
