IN PHOTOS. The Department of Science and Technology VI (DOST VI) conducted the 4th Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) on November 14, 2024. The drill featured activities such as the “Duck, Cover, and Hold” technique, orderly evacuations, and simulated search and rescue and first aid scenarios which highlighted the importance of a prompt response and proper coordination during emergencies.

The DOST VI Emergency Response Team (ERT) simulated rescues of trapped and injured individuals, giving importance to basic life-saving techniques including wound care and stabilization as an immediate response before professional medical assistance arrives. Following the drill’s conclusion, employees convened to discuss and share observations, provide suggestions, and plan follow-up activities to further enhance response capabilities, ensuring continuous improvement in disaster preparedness. The activity served as a vital platform for fostering awareness and reinforcing the shared responsibility of disaster preparedness in building a safer and more resilient workplace. Notably, DOST VI has consistently participated in the quarterly NSED for CY 2024.
