The Western Visayas Startup Awards, chaired by DOST VI Regional Director Engr. Rowen R. Gelonga, was established to recognize the innovative startup companies and personalities who made a significant impact on the regional startup ecosystem. It aims to inspire and motivate researchers, entrepreneurs, and innovators to continue pursuing their business aspirations through technology and innovation and contribute to the overall economic growth of Western Visayas.
The awarding was held on September 24, 2024 during the Western Visayas Innovative Startup Fest 2024 Conference at Diversion 21 Hotel, Iloilo City. The winners were awarded by Engr. Rowen R. Gelonga, DOST VI Regional Director; Mr. Jessraf Palmares, Iloilo Federation of Information Technology (IFIT) President, and National ICT Confederation of the Philippines (NICP) Chairman; Mr. Rajeev Warrier, Executive VP of Entrepreneurship at Wadhwani Foundation; Mr. Marvin Luke Chin, Curator of the Global Shapers Community-Iloilo Member; Mr. Lucrecio D. Delgado, Jr., Regional Director of the Wadhani Foundation Southeast Asia.
