DOST VI joins the Smart METRO Project Kick-off Meeting and Pre-Implementation Workshop hosted by the Metro Iloilo-Guimaras Economic Development Council (MIGEDC) on June 4β5, 2024, at The Avenue, Mandurriao, Iloilo City.
DOST VI, together with the National Economic Development Authority VI (NEDA VI), Iloilo Science Technology University (ISAT U), West Visayas State University (WVSU), and local government LGU officials from Cabatuan, Guimaras, Iloilo City, Leganes, Oton, Pavia, San Miguel, and Sta. Barbara signed the pledge of commitment to show strong support for this project.
The Smart METRO is a research and development project of the UP Training Center for Applied Geodesy and Photogrammetry (UP TCAGP), funded by the Philippine Council for Industry, Energy, and Emerging Technology Research and Development (DOST-PCIEERD). This project aims to establish the foundations of a smart metro region through the employment of modern geospatial solutions, the development of system prototypes, and multi-organizational collaboration.
