LOOK: The Alimodian Bamboo Producers Association (ABPA) engaged in a benchmarking activity with bamboo weaving artisans from Maasin and Janiuay, Iloilo.

A total of 13 Bamboo producers and craftsmen from 11 barangays in Alimodian learned new and refined weaving techniques from the resource speakers, Mr. Antonio Aguilar of Maasin, Iloilo, and Mr. Efren and Ramona Guzman of Efren’s Bamboo Craft in Janiuay, Iloilo. The activity aims to promote and sustainability of the bamboo weaving industry and preserve traditional craftsmanship while integrating to contemporary techniques and market demands in Alimodian.

The activity is part of Department of Science and Technology’s (DOST) Community Empowerment Thru Science and Technology (CEST) project in partnership with the local government of Alimodian and Taytay sa Kauswagan Inc. (TSKI).
