The Department of Science and Technology VI (DOST VI) delivers metalworking equipment and tools to Pasto Agrarian Reform Cooperative (PARC) in Brgy. Magtikol, Toboso, Negros Occidental and to Hda. Caridad Dela Paz Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Association (CADARBA) in Brgy. Rafaela Barrera, Sagay City, Negros Occidental on May 30, 2024.

The two farmer groups are beneficiaries of the Community Empowerment thru Science and Technology (CEST) Program for the Pandayan ng Bayan in Negros Occidental project which targets to establish metalworking fabrication centers in all six districts of Negros Occidental. The project is implemented by Central Philippines State University (CPSU) in cooperation with State University of Northern Negros (SUNN) and RU Foundry and Machine Shop Corporation in the first and second legislative districts.

Engr. Allan Francis P. Dara-ug expressed the commitment of DOST in fostering inclusive countryside development through science, technology and innovation by helping the farmers and other marginalized sectors.

Present during the turnover were Dr. Maryvic Pedrosa, project leader from CPSU; Dr. Mary Ann Tongol representing SUNN; Hon. Perfecto Marañon, representing Sagay City Mayor Narciso L.
