Site visits for DOST technical consultancy programs conducted at Negros Occidental
Site visits for the Department of Science and Technology’s (DOST) technical consultancy programs, Basic Energy Audit and Food Safety, were conducted by the Negros Occidental Provincial Science and Technology Center (PSTC).
In line with the Basic Energy Efficiency Consultancy program, DOST Negros Occidental personnel conducted a site visit at Nature’s Village Resort to assess the firm and interview resort personnel to identify prominent issues with energy consumption.
Energy consultant Engr. Joseph Golingay inspected the resort’s various facilities and did one-on-one interviews and consultations with involved personnel. Engr. Golingay identified a major concern regarding how to reduce energy costs and figuring out ways to acquire renewable energy sources.
Another site visit was conducted at Gielynns Meatshop as part of DOST’s Food Safety consultancy program. Gielynns Meatshop is known for their processed food products especially chorizo and is in the process of applying for its Food and Drug Administration License to Operate (FAD-LTO) certification.
During the site visit, Food Safety consultant Engr. Cristian May Jalique interviewed the firm’s owner, Nerilynn Lim. Engr. Jalique toured the whole facility including the storage area for raw materials and offered recommendations.
