DOST VI holds orientations on S&T services for potential consultants and trainers

The Department of Science and Technology Region VI (DOST VI) hosted an orientation for Potential Consultants and Trainers to faculty and teaching personnel of various colleges and universities from Aklan, Antique, and Capiz.

The main purpose of this orientation is to provide opportunities to the participants how have proper credentials to be accredited as consultants, trainers, and subject matter specialists of the DOST.

The participants’ home colleges and universities comprise of Aklan State University, Northwestern Visayan Colleges, Garcia College of Technology, Capiz Statue University, and University of Antique with one participant from Aklan AIMCoop.

After an overview of the DOST services, the following consultancies of the DOST were discussed: Manufacturing Productivity, Environmental Management, Food Safety, Product and Process Development, Quality Management, Agricultural Productivity, and Machinery and Equipment Management.

Furthermore, other topics were tackled which included Packaging and Labeling Services, Technology Training, Accreditation of Experts, and an Overview of 1Expert. The latter oriented the participants on the requirements to be submitted for them to gain accreditation as consultants, trainers, or subject matter specialists plus grounds for suspension and the overview of the 1E Portal.
