The Department of Science and Technology Provincial Science and Technology Office (DOST PSTO) in Capiz spearheads the conduct of food safety trainings on Current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP), Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP) to various project beneficiaries in the province.

Under DOST VI’s tech training services, food safety trainings covering cGMP and SSOP was requested by Alsons Aquaculture Corporation (AAC)-Roxas City Processing Plant and MEGAF Seafood Training. AAC and MEGAF intended to provide a refresher seminar for its personnel and student interns about important food safety procedures.

Additionally, another food safety training was conducted for Community Empowerment thru Science and Technology (CEST) Program beneficiaries in Brgys. Tacayan, Lahug, and Katipunan in Tapaz, Capiz. The training was particularly aimed to teach beneficiaries about cGMP for a dressed chicken processing facility that was to be established in Tapaz Public Market.
