3 Negrense orgs. participate in presentation of DOST programs and projects

The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Negros Occidental hosted three separate orientations on DOST programs and projects for Negrosanon for Economic Development Multi-purpose Cooperative, Sulong Kauswagan, Inc., and Southern Negros Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Cooperative.

The discussion on DOST Programs and Projects was led by Provincial Science and Technology Director Allan Francis P. Dara-ug while Project Assistant II Engr. Russel Renz R. Garcia presented the Civil Society Organization (CSO) Accreditation Requirements and the Community Empowerment thru Science and Technology (CEST) Program.

Negrosanon for Economic Development Multi-Purpose Cooperative, led by its Chairperson Antonio L. Causapin, is a Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) – registered cooperative engaged in strengthening fisherfolks and farmers in Sagay City. Sulong Kauswagan, Inc., led by its President Jimmy Baynosa, is a Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) – registered non-government organization implementing projects supporting the fisherfolks and women’s organizations in Escalante City. Southern Negros Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Cooperative, led by its Chairperson Joemar Bayog, is a CDA-registered cooperative which implements projects to help farmers and livestock growers in Himamaylan City and other neighboring towns.

As of this writing, the aforementioned organizations are in the process of submitting their requirements for CSO accreditation and the Negros PSTD will closely coordinate with and assist them in preparing their requirements.(KJRGagajena-DOSTVI-KMU)
