The Department of Science and Technology Region VI (DOST VI) links with CPUGAD Technology Business Incubator (TBI) to discuss how to provide Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW)-technopreneurs with essential tools and resources to successfully launch and sustain their technology-driven enterprises.

This initiative aims to strengthen DOST’s Innovations for Filipinos Working Distantly from the Philippines (iFWD PH) Program, which aims to help Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) and their families establish technology-based enterprises in the Philippines.

During the meeting, the CPUGAD TBI’s N³ Incubation Program was introduced. It is a program designed to support new entrepreneurs in the early stage of their business. CPUGAD TBI services were also discussed such as training, workshops, and mentorships which align with the needs of OFW technopreneurs under the iFWD PH Program. Moreover, they showcased various startup businesses focused on Information and Communications Technology and Food innovation supported by CPUGAD TBI. These startups offer services that can enhance business operations, digitalize production systems, and develop advanced technology-based products.

The meeting was attended by DOST VI iFWD PH regional focal person, Ms. Jhoanna N. Bolencis, DOST VI iFWD PH staff, namely, Ms. Ma. Liza S. Quidato, and Ms. Micah P. Arellado, CPUGAD Technology Business Incubator Project Leader, Engr. Gelvie C. Lagos, CPUGAD TBI General Manager, Mr. Mark Gil D. Peraman, and CPUGAD TBI Communications and Marketing Officer, Ms. Eldane Gale C. Pamposa.

This collaboration is set to strengthen the support ecosystem for OFWs venturing into technology-driven enterprises in the region. (MPArellado/TTCS)
