Scholar volunteers of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) led a three-day review class for the 2025 DOST Science Education Institute (SEI) Undergraduate Scholarships Program applicants in the province of Guimaras, March 15, 22 and 29.

The DOST Guimaras Provincial Science and Technology Office (PSTO) hosted the activity at the Guimaras State University (GSU) – Mosqueda Campus, Brgy. Alaguisoc, Jordan, Guimaras.

Around 150 students from the different schools in the province attended the review classes.

The activity was spearheaded by ongoing DOST scholars from GSU and scholar-volunteers from the DOST Scholars’ Association in Region VI. It covered Mathematics, Science, English, and Logical Reasoning.

The applicants also took a simulation exam to help them better prepare for the actual examination on April 5 and 6.

Since 2012, DOST Guimaras PSTO has hosted scholarship review classes through the initiative of its Provincial Director Allen Daryl F. Asuelo, a DOST scholar himself, aiming to increase the number of DOST scholars in the province.

Through this activity, ongoing DOST scholars and scholar graduates practice social responsibility, one of the core values of a DOST scholar. (RAGLlaneta, MASASalazar/DOST Guimaras)
