The 10-day work immersion of eight ( 8 ) senior high school students from Cong. Ramon A. Arnaldo High School (CRAAHS) officially concluded on February 3, 2025. This program was conducted under a three-year Work Immersion Partnership between CRAAHS and the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) to provide students with valuable industry exposure.

To ensure a meaningful learning experience, DOST Capiz developed a work plan tailored to the students’ skills and interests. An orientation session was initially held to introduce them to the agency’s various programs and services. The students also engaged in creative and administrative tasks, including designing promotional brochures, creating presentations, and assisting in documentation and report preparation. In addition, they actively observed and participated in key activities, such as consultancy pre-qualification assessment and FoodtrIP’s sensory evaluation, and handled the photo documentation of various DOST Capiz activities.
Beyond technical skills, the immersion also helped students develop workplace competencies such as teamwork, time management, and communication. Working closely with the DOST Capiz personnel served as an opportunity for them to gaining insights into professional work ethics, problem-solving, and the importance of STI in driving economic and social progress. On the final day of their immersion, the students showcased their learning experience by presenting their outputs which highlighted their acquired knowledge and skills, demonstrating their ability to apply what they learned in a real work environment.

Through this partnership and program, CRAAHS and DOST Capiz continue to strengthen their commitment to preparing students for future S&T careers by bridging the gap between classroom learning and real-world experiences. (MCPielago/DOST Capiz)
