The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) opens more funding opportunities for research, development, and innovation institutions in the Visayas as it launches the Call for Proposals during the 2025 Visayas Call Conference on January 17, 2025, at Summit Hotel, Tacloban City, Leyte.
The call for proposals covers various programs across the sectors of health, agriculture, aquaculture, natural resources, industry, energy, and emerging technologies. The priority areas for these sectors were presented by the respective sectoral councils of the DOST, the National Research Council of the Philippines (NRCP), Philippine Council for Health Research and Development (PCHRD), Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquaculture, and Natural Resources Research and Development (PCAARRD), and the Philippine Council for Industry, Energy, and Emerging Technology Research and Development (PCIEERD). In addition, more RDI programs were shared for big-ticket R&D programs, regional operation programs, human resources development, and technical services.
The DOST Call for Proposals will be for the CY 2027 Funding, which will be opened from March to May 2025. Through the conference, various academic institutions, national government agencies (NGAs), and private sectors from Western Visayas, Central Visayas, Eastern Visayas, and the Negros Island Region were brought together, paving a way for more collaborative opportunities in the future.
With this activity and opportunities, the DOST aims to encourage more institutions to engage in research, development, and innovation activities aligned to specific needs of the region. (AMIRoberto, KFADuspar/RDIMS)
