Iloilo City – The Department of Science and Technology VI (DOST VI) partners with Rezbin, an innovative startup company in Iloilo City focused on revolutionizing plastic waste recovery in the country.
The partnership was formalized with the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on October 11, 2024, at the DOST VI Regional Office. The agreement was signed by DOST VI Regional Director Engr. Rowen R. Gelonga and Rezbin Founder Mr. Mari Martirez.
This highlights the agency’s commitment to environmental stewardship and its proactive approach to reducing plastic waste in the region. It is aligned with the DOST VI AmligSiyensya which is the agency’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) program that intends to provide solutions to the community through science and technology.
Rezbin uses advanced technology to track plastic donations, reward individuals with points and offers a convenient weekly recyclable pickup service. Currently, Rezbin has 70 partner locations within Iloilo City. (SAMadia/GSS, NABFactuar/KMO)
