YuDi Brewery, the pioneering craft beer producer in Roxas City, Capiz, has been granted approval for funding under the Department of Science and Technologyโ€™s (DOST) SETUP 4.0 iFund. This initiative aims to enhance the breweryโ€™s processes, systems, and product quality through the integration of science and technology-based solutions.

Founded in 2020 by Gerlie D. Clark, YuDi Brewery is known for its commitment to producing high-quality, preservative-free craft beers using fresh, natural ingredients. Since launching its products in 2021, the brewery has gained a loyal following, but frequent power outages and non-compliance with labeling regulations have presented operational challenges.

To address these issues, YuDi Brewery sought DOSTโ€™s assistance, proposing key upgrades to their operations. One significant improvement is the installation of a solar-powered electrical system that will ensure uninterrupted production, especially during power outages, while also reducing energy consumption. Moreover, the brewery plans to enhance its packaging and labeling to meet Food and Drug Administration (FDA) standards and secure the FDA License to Operate (LTO), which will allow the firm to expand its market reach beyond Capiz.

With the approval of the โ‚ฑ1.75 million funding from DOST, YuDi Brewery is set to boost its production capacity, improve product quality, and strengthen its reputation in the growing craft beer industry. This milestone positions the brewery for future growth and success while promoting sustainability through the adoption of green technology.(VBDelaPeรฑa/DOSTCapiz)
