Basic packaging, labeling training offered for micro-enterprises in Iloilo
The Department of Science and Technology VI (DOST VI) through the Iloilo Provincial Science and Technology Office (Iloilo PSTO) and the Science and Technology Services Section (STSS) conducted a Training on Packaging and Labeling Training 101 at DOST VI Training Room, Magsaysay Village, Lapaz Iloilo.
Packaging and labeling are essential for drawing customers and conveying important product information in the current competitive market. With this training, participants from diverse micro-enterprises and firms were able to gain valuable insights into the functions and classifications of packaging, different packaging materials, and the mandatory labelling requirements in the Philippines. The participants were also able to apply the principles they had learned through engaging activities and assessments.
The training was provided by resource persons from DOST VI, Ms. Janene L. Denila, Ms. Kay Kristel S. Cainglet, and Ms. Faye Camille D. Jimenea.
Capacitating the local micro-enterprise owners on the basics of packaging and labeling will help them choose the right materials for packaging that will preserve product quality and identify effective product presentation that help will maximize their profits. (RJDArcillas/Iloilo PSTO)
