The iHub or Innovation Hub located at the Guimaras State University Main Campus in Buenavista, Guimaras is now open for starting entrepreneurs, innovators and students.
The iHub is a space where startups can be nurtured, and key players like enablers, investors, and accelerators can gather, collaborate, share information, and provide assistance to startups.
“The space will fuel innovative ideas. We will pursue innovation for the people and create value not only in monetary terms but for the people’s sense of well-being”, shares Dr. Naomi Cossette Luis, DOST VI Asst. Regional Director in her message during the iHub’s launching today, January 31.
The project is led by the Iloilo Science and Technology University (ISAT U) through its consortium, Unified Movement in Western Visayas to Accelerate Startup and Spin-off Development (UMWAD) Western Visayas, and in collaboration with DOST VI, Guimaras State University (GSU), and the Province of Guimaras. The consortium aims to improve the startup ecosystem and harmonize the programs of the government and various stakeholders for startups in the region.
The chill coffee shop vibe of iHub in Guimaras will encourage innovation and entrepreneurship and also inspire and attract more startups, to stimulate a culture of innovation in the province of Guimaras.
