A food processing facility on wheels developed by the Department of Science and Technology Industrial Technology Development Institute (DOST-ITDI) is set to visit Iloilo for the 2023 National Science, Technology, and Innovation Week (NSTW) celebration.

Also known as DOST-ITDI’s Mobile Modular Food Processing Facility or MMFPF is a model processing plant on wheels with modules. The facility targets value-adding of surplus in agri-fisheries production and extend shelf-life. The mobile food processing facility for Western Visayas is a frying module that features pre-processing, conventional frying, vacuum frying, and packaging technologies. Three (3) other regions are provided with the MMFPF, namely, MIMAROPA, Davao, and Northern Mindanao.

The MMFPF coined as FoodtrIP will be stationed in Capiz State University – Dayao Campus and will also be available to other provinces in Western Visayas. This facility can serve as a food processing training and demo facility for agriculture and fishery commodities that will help farmers’ dilemma on surplus and food loss.

Visit this one-of-a-kind food processing facility on wheels at the Iloilo Convention Center from November 22 to 26.
