The Capiz Provincial Science and Technology Office (PSTO) of the Department of Science and Technology VI (DOST VI) conducted a Small Enterprise Technology Upgrading Program 4.0 (SETUP 4.0) orientation and project proposal writing workshop.

This two-day activity aims to provide valuable knowledge and guidance to local Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Capiz. It consisted of a reorientation session on the guidelines of SETUP 4.0 for existing firm-beneficiaries and a workshop on project proposal writing for interested MSMEs.

The reorientation activity on the first day was attended by seven (7) MSMEs from various sectors, including food, agriculture, and furniture making. In addition, a dynamic Focus Group Discussion (FGD) was conducted to gather feedback on the DOST VI’s implementation of the program and assess the level of satisfaction among the clients.

The workshop on project proposal writing, which aimed to assist MSMEs in crafting comprehensive proposals for the 2024 SETUP. A total of eight (8) firms attended the workshop, along with two staff from the Capiz State University (CapSU) Agri-Business Incubator programs based in the Burias and Dayao Campuses.

Overall, the two-day event organized by the Capiz PSTO proved to be highly beneficial to the participants. More than raising awareness on DOST’s programs and projects, it also encouraged collaboration among the participants, paving the way for future success and development in Capiz’s entrepreneurial landscape.
