Bank of Philippine Islands (BPI) Foundation, Inc. and the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) deploy one (1) unit of Science and Technology Academic and Research-Based Openly-Operated KioskS or STARBOOKS in Malonoy National High School (NHS), Dao, Capiz.

A turnover ceremony conducted at Malonoy National High School grounds was attended by Ms. Kathylyn Mae “Jhaja” B. Fuentes Fuentes from the Sangguniang Bayan of Dao, Ms. Lalaine E. Delos Santos from the Department of Education-District of Dao Office, Atty. Arthur John H. Biñas from the Capiz Provincial Administrator Office, Dr. Quinto L. Tagoc Jr., Malonoy NHS School Principal and representatives from BPI Foundation Inc., DOST-Science and Technology Institute (STII), DOST VI Regional Office and DOST Capiz Provincial S&T Office (PSTO).

In her message, Ms. Juafe M. Abareles, DOST Capiz Provincial Director, emphasized the importance of having STARBOOKS units especially in schools that have limited internet connectivity.

The activity is part of BPI’s project in collaboration with DOST to provide a total of 10 STARBOOKS units to identified public schools nationwide.
