The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Negros Occidental Provincial Science and Technology Office (PSTO) joins the Rural Women Entrepreneurs Day celebration and Agri-fishery fair and exhibit hosted by the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPA) – Negros Occidental.
During the event, Negros Occidental PSTO shared basic knowledge on Food Safety, Packaging and Mandatory Labeling Requirements to selected micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to help them improve their product quality and increase marketability. Free packaging materials and labels were also distributed to qualified beneficiaries during the event.
Highlights of the orientation and awarding included the presentation of the OPA’s past batches of agri-fishery rural women food processors as well as their enhanced products which were featured in Ayala Fiesta Market as well as local trade fairs and exhibits.
Concluding the event was a consultation with new applicants who are interested in availing of the DOST’s Packaging and Labeling Design Assistance Program. (DOST VI-KMU)
