Department of Science and Technology VI (DOST VI) personnel underwent a Gender-Fair Language Orientation as part of the department’s Gender and Development (GAD) Program.

Specifically, the orientation is an initiative of the GAD Focal Point System (GFPS) to strengthen gender mainstreaming and sensitivity among staff.

The orientation’s objectives consist of presenting the concept of sexism in language and the need to avoid it, encouraging participants to identify words that are sexist and discriminatory against women and those that are non-sexist and gender-inclusive, and helping them develop inclusive oral and written communication skills by practicing gender-neutral language.
