Capiz enteprises qualify for DOST’s Manufacturing Productivity consultancy program

Capiz enterprises, namely, Ebang’z Mushroom Products, Edelicious Snack Foods, and Mon Bakers, qualify for the Department of Science and Technology’s (DOST) Manufacturing Productivity consultancy program for 2022.

The enterprises were identified by the DOST Capiz Provincial Science and Technology Office (PSTO) and the assigned DOST-accredited consultant to handle the engagement is Engr. Baby R. Lim.
The consultancy engagement for the three (3) establishments started with separate first virtual meetings participated by the program management team (PMT) from DOST VI, Capiz PSTO staff, consultant, and the respective firm beneficiaries. The meeting involved formal introductions along with the overview and expected output of the program engagement. Engr. Lim then gave a manufacturing productivity questionnaire to the firm beneficiaries.

After a week, another set of virtual meetings took place to validate the data as stated in the answered questionnaires. Physical visits were then underway wherein Engr. Lim presents the inception report followed by one-on-one consultations.

Another site visits where also done to perform a strengths and weaknesses analysis to identify the weaknesses and strengths of the client or cooperator’s operations and production systems. During this time, Engr. Lim also identified area improvements and workable recommendations to be implemented within the production facility.

DOST’s Manufacturing Productivity consultancy program is one of the seven (7) consultancy programs currently implemented by DOST Region VI through its Provincial Science and Technology Offices (PSTO). It aims to improve the efficiency and profitability of MSM   Es by producing better products and services, reducing operational expenses, establishing more productive and safer workplaces, and developing more appropriately-skilled manpower.
