13 OFWs from Western Visayas complete iFWD PH program

13 Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) from Western Visayas completed the Department of Science and Technology’s (DOST) Innovations for Filipinos Working Distantly from the Philippines (iFWD PH) program.

Batch 1 completers of iFWD PH were recognized during the program’s concluding ceremony held online. In attendance were the 38 OFW completers from Regions IV-A, VI, X, and CAR, DOST Regional Directors and personnel, and the lecturers from Entrepinoy Volunteers Foundation, Inc. (EVFI).

In DOST VI Regional Director Engr. Rowen Gelonga’s congratulatory message, he discussed the availability of technologies from the DOST that can aid OFWs who want to start or enhance their business operations. It was emphasized that alongside the iFWD PH program, DOST may also provide technical assistance for their prospective businesses through its banner program called Small Enterprise Technology Upgrading Program (SETUP).

The iFWD PH program is designed to help returning Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) access financial assistance and capacity building trainings to establish startup businesses of their own.(KJRGagajen/DOSTVI-KMU)
