DOST implements certification program for Electoral Board members in Antique
The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) hosted a certification program for the 2022 National and Local Elections (NLE) Electoral Board Members in Antique, March 2-22.
The program is mandated by law as a means of improving public trust and ensuring that at least one member of the Board of Election Inspectors (BEI) is an information technology (IT) capable person.
A whopping 1,588 teachers from all 18 municipalities in Antique underwent training from the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) in nine batches and received certification from the DOST to serve during the 2022 NLE on May 9.
As part of the certification process, the participants had to take a Practical Examination conducted on-site during their schedules and an Online Theoretical Examination which could be taken until March 31.
Moreover, the program was held at the Adelaide Tourists and Travelers Inn & Eagle’s Hotel with two certifiers and one Quick Response Team (QRT) member from the DOST Antique.
