To help enterprises embrace these opportunities, the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Capiz, conducted the “Training on Digital Transformation” for Big City Designs and Prints and 4G Ice Cream House at San Antonio Resort, Brgy. Baybay, Roxas City, Capiz.
Forty-three (43) participants learned the fundamentals of digital transformation (DT) for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). Engr. Lea M. Gabawa, DT consultant, shared her expertise by strengthening digital literacy across the two enterprises and developing a shared understanding of how technology can support their transformation initiatives. Through practical discussions and examples, participants learned how digital tools, process automation, digital marketing, smart business systems, data management, and other digital platforms can improve production, streamline daily operations, enhance organizational efficiency, and support sustainable business growth. As a follow-through activity, Engr. Gabawa also conducted a Spreadsheet Optimization Workshop for 4G Ice Cream House to strengthen its inventory and data management processes.
For Ms. Rose Mary Roxas, Manager of Big City Designs and Prints, the training provided practical knowledge that could benefit the entire organization. “This is a huge help not just to me, but also to my colleagues. It will assist them in managing their daily work, handling the pressure and made our work easier with the help of modern technology system. We have all gained insight into the significant role of Digital Transformation not just to us but in the business.,” Roxas shared.
Ms. Marilou Besana, an employee of 4G Ice Cream House, also appreciated the practical examples presented during the session. “Na-appreciate ko gid ang mga information kag practical examples nga ginpresentar ni Ma’am Lea. Nabuligan ako nga mas maintindihan ang importance sang digital transformation sa pag-improve sang communication kag data management,” Besana said.
