The Department of Science and Technology VI (DOST VI) through its Capiz Provincial Science and Technology Office (PSTO) joins the Collaborative Provincial-led Agricultural and Fishery Extension Program (CPAFEP) Write Up and Counterparting for Native Chicken and Oyster hosted by the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist held in Dayao, Roxas City.
The workshop aimed to update the existing development plans including its institutionalization, constraints and opportunities of primary commodities, and mapping of extension interventions for primary commodities. It was conducted as part of the Province-led Agriculture and Fisheries Extension Systems (PAFES) which is an implementation of the Executive Order (EO) No. 138 or the Full Devolution of Certain Functions of the Executive Branch to Local Government Units.
The Capiz PSTO was represented by Engr. Mae Avek C. Gregorios and Ms. Vanessa B. Dela Peña. The consortium included farmers, oyster growers, municipal agriculturists, academe, and representatives from several National Government Agencies (NGA) such as the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office and Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, and was able to finish the updating and finalization of the CPAFEP.
The active involvement of each participant during the workshop enabled the consideration of all necessary parameters required for the successful implementation of the Province-led Agriculture and Fisheries Extension Systems. (VBDelaPena/MCPielago/DOST VI-KMU)
