Negrense Farmers Association inaugurates coffee production facility

The Canlandog Pilot Agro-Forestry Farmers Association (CPAFFA) held an inauguration ceremony for their coffee production facility in Brgy. Canlandog, Murcia, Negros Occidental.

The upgraded facility is a joint project among CPAFFA, Negros Occidental Local Government Unit (LGU), and the Department of Science and Technology (DOST). The LGU was primarily involved in the conceptualization and implementation stages. DOST, on the other hand, provided assistance through acquisition of new equipment and conduct technical consultancy and training as part of its Community Empowerment through Science and Technology (CEST) Program in the barangay.

In attendance during the inauguration were Negros Occidental Provincial Science and Technology Center (PSTC) Personnel, Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson, Provincial Environmental Management Officer Atty. Julie Ann Bedrio, Mayor Victor Gerardo Rojas along with the Municipal Council of Murcia, barangay officials, and residents of Sitio Monarch.

On the same day, the Negros Occidental PSTC staff and the DOST-accredited consultant, Mr. Leopoldo Radan Jr., also performed a site visit and assessment of the facility.
